We are delighted to share two significant moments of recognition for our Trust this week – each highlighting the commitment, creativity, and impact of our school communities.
Rocklands School and Bailey Street AP Academy Featured in Staffordshire’s SEND & AP Strategy 2026–2029 Video
Two of our schools, Rocklands School and Bailey Street AP Academy, have been featured in Staffordshire County Council’s newly released video introducing the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Alternative Provision Strategy 2026–2029. The video, shared on YouTube this week, is especially powerful as it is narrated by a student, placing pupil voice at the forefront – something we deeply value across our Trust.
About the Staffordshire SEND & AP Strategy
The new strategy outlines how Staffordshire County Council and the Staffordshire and Stoke‑on‑Trent Integrated Care Board will work together to improve support, communication, and educational experiences for children and young people with SEND, as well as those accessing alternative provision. It has been shaped through co‑production with over 900 parents, carers, children, young people, and professionals, ensuring lived experiences directly inform priorities. [staffordshire.gov.uk]
The strategy identifies three key priorities:
- Timely and consistent support – ensuring children and young people get the help they need when they need it. [staffordshire.gov.uk]
- Listening to and supporting families – embedding co‑production and strengthening communication. [staffordshire.gov.uk]
- Nurturing inclusive environments and best practice – equipping settings with the tools and confidence to support diverse needs. [staffordshire.gov.uk]
The strategy reflects a shared commitment across the local area partnership to improve experiences and outcomes for children and young people with SEND and those accessing alternative provision. [staffordshire.gov.uk]

We are incredibly proud to see Rocklands and Bailey Street AP Academy represented in this important countywide work. Their inclusion reflects the high‑quality, inclusive practice and strong community ethos that define our Trust.
Adelaide Heath’s Sensory Breakfast Club Featured on BBC Sounds
We are equally thrilled that Adelaide Heath School’s Sensory Breakfast Club has been featured in the BBC Sounds podcast SEND in the Spotlight. The episode, titled “Attendance and fines”, was released on 26 January and includes contributions from Jayne Lowe, Anna Maxwell Martin, and Kellie Bright.
This feature highlights the impact of Adelaide Heath’s Sensory Breakfast Club — an initiative designed to offer pupils a calm, nurturing start to the day, helping them regulate emotionally and prepare positively for learning.
While the wider podcast content explores attendance and support for families, the recognition of the Sensory Breakfast Club showcases the innovative, pupil‑centred approaches our schools continue to develop.
Why These Moments Matter
Across the Trust, we firmly believe that everyone belongs, learns, and grows. These recent features reflect:
- Our commitment to amplifying pupil voice
- The creativity and dedication of staff across our schools
- The importance of inclusive, nurturing environments
- The impact of collaboration – with families, local partners, and wider services
We are incredibly proud of Rocklands, Bailey Street AP Academy, and Adelaide Heath for representing our Trust so brilliantly on these public platforms.
