🌟New Modular Build at Chaselea 🌟

A Fresh Start for Chaselea

The new school year has begun with something truly exciting at Chaselea Alternative Provision — the arrival of a brand-new modular building, replacing the old unit which had to be removed due to a rotting floor that posed a health and safety concern.

With planning now passed and the structure in place, the new build will provide three modern classrooms, giving our students a safe, high-quality space to learn and grow.

On the very first day back, staff were treated to a dramatic sight as huge sections of the building were craned into place over Chaselea’s existing site — in the middle of strong winds and heavy rain!

Headteacher Paul Archer captured the excitement of the day perfectly:

*“Wow — how to start the new term! So exciting to be starting the new term anyway; but what a way to spend the first inset day with the pieces of our new modular building being craned over the building. Especially in all that wind and rain we were having.

There was a moment when I wondered if the weather might stop it happening — and another when I held my breath as the sections were lifted over the building.

I am looking forward to showing the pictures when it’s finished and the three classrooms are open.”*

This project is a brilliant example of our commitment to safe, inspiring learning environments for all our students.

A huge thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to make this possible: Kate Staples, COO, Rachael Barnacle, Estates and Health and Safety Officer from Manor Hall Trust, and Ricky Carr from Roger Hannah.

We can’t wait to share more photos once the build is complete — and to open the doors of Chaselea’s new classrooms very soon.
