Manor Hall Schools Launch Glow Up Sustainability Challenge 2026!

At Manor Hall Academy Trust, we’re passionate about creating a greener future—and we’re taking action! In partnership with WN1, we’ve launched the Glow Up Sustainability Challenge 2026, a bold initiative to reduce carbon footprints and inspire the next generation of climate leaders.

From January to August 2026, our schools will work hard to cut energy use, reduce waste, and embed sustainability into everyday learning. Pupils will lead campaigns like “Turn It Off” energy drives, recycling projects, nature-based activities, and creative lessons on climate change. These efforts don’t just make our schools greener—they empower young people to take real-world action for the planet.

What’s the reward?

The school that achieves the biggest carbon reduction and demonstrates outstanding pupil engagement will win a WN1 Glow Up in December 2026—a spectacular festive makeover with LED Christmas lights, turning their school into the most magical and eco-friendly place in town!

This challenge supports the DfE Sustainability Strategy and aligns with the national Let’s Go Zero campaign, helping schools move toward net zero by 2030.

Why does this matter?

Climate change is one of the biggest challenges of our time. By involving pupils in practical sustainability projects, we’re not only reducing emissions—we’re building knowledge, leadership, and hope for the future.

Follow our journey and celebrate the incredible work happening across Manor Hall schools. Together, we’re proving that education can lead the way in tackling climate change.
