On Monday, our Estates and Health & Safety Officer, Rachael Barnacle, and Business School Improvement Officer Louise Smith hosted our Trust-wide Health & Safety Day – and it was an outstanding success.
Colleagues from across our schools joined us for a full day of expert presentations, hands-on demonstrations, and important updates designed to strengthen safety, well-being, and resilience across our MAT. The feedback from attendees has been overwhelmingly positive, and we are incredibly proud of the work that went into making the day so impactful.
A Day Full of Expertise, Learning, and Practical Support
The sessions followed a well-planned and purposeful schedule:
Entrust – Health & Safety Updates
We began the day with Sophie from Entrust, who delivered essential Health & Safety updates. Her session ensured colleagues are up to date with the latest guidance and statutory requirements, helping schools remain compliant and well-prepared.
CitizenAID – Emergency Response Guidance
Next, we had the privilege of welcoming Sir Keith Porter and his colleague from CitizenAID. Their presentation offered practical, actionable advice on emergency response, with a clear focus on real scenarios relevant to school environments.
Harmoniance – Wellbeing and Nervous System Regulation
Our third session was led by Carolyn from Harmoniance, who explored the importance of wellbeing and demonstrated calming techniques designed to support nervous system regulation. Staff found the session grounding, reflective, and highly useful for managing the pressures of daily school life.
Luminate – Wireless Lockdown Alarm System
Simon from Luminate followed with an introduction to their wireless lockdown alarms. His demonstration highlighted how simple, reliable technology can support rapid communication during emergencies.
Chespak Hygiene – Sustainable Cleaning Solutions
We then welcomed Jasper from Chespak Hygiene, who showcased high‑quality, sustainable cleaning products. His demonstration offered practical ideas for how our schools can reduce waste and improve sustainability through smarter product choices.
Evac Chair Demonstration
To close the day, Luke delivered a clear and informative Evac Chair demonstration. Staff valued the opportunity to see the equipment in action and build confidence in safe evacuation procedures.
A Huge Thank You
The success of the day is a credit to Rachael Barnacle and Louise Smith, whose organisation, attention to detail, and commitment ensured a smooth, informative, and engaging event.
Their work supports safer schools, confident staff, and a shared understanding of best practice across the Trust — and we are incredibly proud of them.
A special thank you also goes to all our speakers, partners, and school teams who attended and contributed to such a valuable day of learning
