We are thrilled to share some incredible news from Springfield School! Our very own Lucie Tunnicliffe has been honored with the Silver Award for Teacher of the Year in a Primary School at the prestigious Pearson National Teaching Awards 2025.
Lucie has been an integral part of Springfield for over five years, bringing passion, creativity, and dedication to her role every single day. As a teacher in our specialist setting, she has developed an exceptional approach to education that truly makes a difference. Lucie leads key subjects including communication, phonics, PE, geography, and history, ensuring that every lesson is purposeful and engaging. Her ability to simplify complex concepts and create meaningful learning experiences is nothing short of inspiring.
Beyond her classroom work, Lucie is a mentor and role model for colleagues and student teachers. Her commitment to professional development and collaboration strengthens our entire school community. She goes above and beyond for her pupils, always prioritizing their well-being. One remarkable example of her dedication was when she stepped in to provide an emergency foster placement for a pupil, preventing the child from spending Christmas in a hospital ward. This act of kindness speaks volumes about Lucie’s compassion and unwavering support for her students.
Lucie’s impact as an educator is profound, and this award is a well-deserved recognition of her hard work and heart. We are incredibly proud to have her as part of the Springfield family.
Congratulations, Lucie! Your achievement is an inspiration to us all.
