Animal Therapy at Shenstone: Supporting Wellbeing for All

At Shenstone Lodge, wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do — and one of the most powerful ways we support our pupils is through animal therapy.

Animal therapy offers pupils the chance to interact with therapy dogs in a calm, nurturing environment. These special sessions help children to:

  • Develop empathy and emotional awareness 🐕
  • Reduce stress and anxiety
  • Build trust and confidence
  • Enhance social skills and connections with others

The gentle presence of animals provides comfort and reassurance, helping pupils regulate their emotions and feel ready to learn.

As we mark World Mental Health Day this October, we’re proud to celebrate the ways Shenstone Lodge creates spaces where #everyonelearns #everyonebelongs #everyonegrows.

These four-legged friends provide comfort, joy, and emotional support every day. For pupils, having dogs in school helps to:

  • Reduce anxiety and stress
  • Improve mood and wellbeing
  • Build confidence and trust
  • Create a sense of belonging

School dogs are always there with a wagging tail, ready to listen, comfort, or just bring a smile.

This October, for World Mental Health Day, we’re celebrating the role of our canine companions in supporting a positive, nurturing school environment where #everyonelearns #everyonebelongs #everyonegrows.
